About me
The motto I live by?
"Rest if you must, but never quit"
I was born and raised in my hometown, Allahabad, in a conservative family where I began my early education at home and then at a local convent school. At the age of fifteen, I was sent to a public boarding school where I started to explore life and as it came. I lived and grew in a hostel with people from different ethnicities, cultures and geographical and financial backgrounds. From the beginning, I was extremely driven to excel in academics and passionate to perform, which was later on reflected in my work life. I graduated from Mayo College, Ajmer in 2007 and moved to New Delhi to pursue a bachelor’s degree in science from Miranda House, Delhi University. I moved to Mumbai to study for my Masters in Electronic Media from the University of Mumbai, and fortunately, found a reporting job with the Essel group which helped me gain a lot of exposure to the media and related environments at an early age.
Of course, my cross-cultural experiences were the fuel that inspired me to bring an objective point of view to my episodes. I also handled various journalism-styled projects which involved profiling hotels in Macau and travelogues in Nepal and China. I led production units, travelled and lived with the team for my projects.
In 2015 I travelled to New York to work with Asia TV USA, for a show for Veria Living Channel. The project was under the Essel Umbrella, and I got the opportunity to work closely with the chairman, and senior management with an all-American production team. I lived with my co-workers on the New York project which lasted about 6 months, and I returned to New Delhi to start a new bi-weekly show on branding and marketing by the name of BrandStand. I was at the peak of my career with Zee when I decided to move into digital.
I made that crossover because the internet industry has a more promising future for a profile such as mine. As we continue to understand the ever-changing workings of social media and keep updated with the trends of the digital world, the future of communication technology and the dream to venture into VR excites me. I believe the potential of storytelling with digital is endless, and we have only barely begun to skirt the fringe of an inevitable creative revolution.
